The Ramganga River which flows right by the Riverine Woods is famous among anglers and fishing enthusiasts for Mahseer. Three species of fishes can be found within the beat here – Goonch, Trout and Golden Mahseer. Trout is not available in the waters close to the lodge due to the presence of Mahseer here; for that you will have to go further downstream. The Goonch can grow in size up to 200 lbs and requires extensive preparatory work before we go for the hunt.
Fishing techniques that may be employed include Bait Fishing, Fly Fishing, Spin Fishing and Hand Nets. Bait Fishing is much popular amongst local and visiting anglers – the kind and size of the bait depends on what game you are after.
