Far away from any human habitation, deep in the woods of the Jim Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand (India), lies the Riverine Woods. This, one of India’s wildest jungle lodges is set amidst the picturesque Ramganga Valley, where the songs of the bulbul and the roar of the tiger mix to create a most exotic oriental cocktail.
Riverine Woods was established in 2003 but was earlier known by the name Vanghat Lodge. The lodge is meant for anglers, wildlife enthusiasts, bird watchers, nature lovers, botanists and zoologists. The resort promotes sport-fishing for the famed Golden Mahaseer in its own exclusive river beat, wildlife safaris in the Corbett Tiger Reserve and extensive bird-watching tours are organised for both young birders and the seasoned ornithologist.
The lodge is a product of a community based tourism inititative, and as a guest here you will be supporting the local communities as a part of Riverine’s turnover is shared with the local community.
